Khusbu Jangra — An Inspiring Story of Struggle, Determination, and Success
Khusbu Jangra was born on 21 August 2004 into an ordinary family in Prithla village, Tohana Tehsil, Bhiwani District, Haryana. Her father, Shri Baljeet Jangra, works in agriculture and animal husbandry, and her mother is Smt. Sapna Devi. Khusbu belongs to a family of two sisters and one brother. All three children in the family have made their mark at the national level in sports—the elder sister is a national wrestling champion, and the brother is a national boxing champion. Khusbu received her primary education from Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Prithla, Bhiwani.
The Journey from an Ordinary Family to the National Level
The soil of Haryana has always given the country talented athletes. One emerging talent carrying forward this sporting tradition is Khusbu Jangra, who, despite limited resources and ordinary family circumstances, has established herself in the field of boxing through hard work, discipline, and determination.
Khusbu’s father, Shri Baljeet Jangra, has played a very important role in her sporting journey. He recognized his daughter’s talent in time and paid special attention to her fitness and physical preparation. Alongside the demanding work of farming and animal husbandry, he continuously worked hard and supported his daughter’s sporting future.
Her parents gave their daughters the same opportunities as their sons and never limited their dreams. This faith became Khusbu’s greatest strength. Indeed, parents are no less than angels for their children. The sacrifice, faith, hard work, and constant support of Khusbu’s parents have been the strong foundation behind her success.
Beginning of Boxing
Khusbu began her sporting journey at Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Prithla, Bhiwani. Gradually, her interest in boxing grew, and she began working hard on training and fitness.
The first major result of her hard work came in 2023, when she participated in her first district-level boxing competition in Fatehabad. Delivering an outstanding performance in the 54 kg weight category, she won the Gold Medal.
This victory was not merely a medal for her; it was the first major step toward her dream of moving forward.
Outstanding Performance from the State to the National Level
The year 2025 proved to be extremely important in Khusbu’s sporting career.
State Boxing Championship — Gohana:
She delivered an excellent performance in the 54 kg weight category and won the Silver Medal.
After this, at the All India University Boxing Championship — Sangrur, Punjab, she performed brilliantly in the 54 kg weight category and won the Gold Medal, showcasing her talent. This competition was associated with Guru Kashi University, Sangrur, Punjab.
In the same year, Khusbu also won the Gold Medal in the 54 kg weight category at the All India University National Boxing Championship — Assam.
Her consistently outstanding performances in national-level competitions have proved that Khusbu is not only a talented athlete but also a determined boxer who continues to perform better even in difficult circumstances.
