Early Life & Youth Career

Himanshu Jangra was born on 21 July 2004 in Hisar, Haryana. He began his football journey at the Minerva Punjab Academy. 

Before joining Minerva, he was rejected in an initial trial but returned and earned a spot in the academy.

In the Hero Sub-Junior, I-League, he scored 18 goals, and in the Junior I-League he scored 9 goals, leading his team to the title.

National Team & Achievements

In the 2019 SAFF U-15 Championship, he scored 7 goals (including two hat-tricks), winning both the Golden Boot and MVP awards.

He scored a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in that tournament.

Later, in the 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship, he was part of the Indian team that defeated Bangladesh 5–2 in the final.

Club Career

At the age of 15, he made his senior debut for Punjab FC in the I-League, becoming one of the youngest players to do so 

He has played for Mohammedan SC, Techtro Swades United FC (Himachal League), and Delhi FC.

With Delhi FC in 2021, he helped the team reach the Durand Cup quarterfinals, scoring crucial goals and assists.

In October 2021, he was named in The Guardian’sNext Generation 2021: 60 Best Young Talents in World Football”, becoming only the second Indian ever to achieve this.

In August 2022, he joined East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League on loan.

A modern forward with pace, dribbling, positional awareness, heading ability, and the capability to create from the wings.

Trained under coaches like Bibiano Fernandes and alongside senior players like Willis Plaza, which helped refine his game.

Personality & Vision

He has stated he does not want to be compared to Sunil Chhetri — his goal is to build his own identity.

Dreams of playing in Europe and is working hard toward that.
